The Foothills Gala

The Foothills Gala is not just an event, it’s an organization dedicated to helping charities all over the upstate, charities from all walks of life.

It’s an opportunity to impact lives through your support of the Gala’s annual signature event, “Diamonds & Denim.”

Every year in February The Foothills Gala’s signature event, “Diamonds & Denim,” is held to benefit selected local charities in Anderson, Oconee  and Pickens counties.  Although the event itself is a fun-filled evening of music, food and entertainment, the underlying purpose is serious: to help those local grassroots charities that struggle because they are not aligned with a national organization; or,  because they receive very little or even  no funding outside their own communities.

The vision of the founders of The Foothills Gala was to bring the three upstate counties of Anderson, Oconee and Pickens together in a new and unique partnership.  Since 2001 that partnership has raised over $430,000 for local charities

Your support for “Diamonds & Denim” helps raise funds for our worthy charities, thus helping them continue to provide essential services and touch lives.

Mission

The Foothills Gala strives to develop a partnership of diverse, volunteer talents that contribute to the support of community charities in Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties, South Carolina, that exhibit specific needs not being met by other sources.

Vision

The Foothills Gala envisions caring individuals building a heart for community by:

• raising and contributing funds to benefit selected charities
• increasing awareness of selected charities
• encouraging volunteerism
• planning and implementing a signature annual event

History of the Foothills Gala

In the fall of 2001, a small group of community leaders joined together in an effort to design an event to support local, “grassroots” charities whose needs were not being met by other sources.  Typically, those charities are not part of a large, national organization, and receive very little or no funding from the usual sources available to charities.
